A few of the many activities, programs, & organizations supported by Legion, SAL, & Auxiliary 484
Many folks view the American Legion as an organization that is simply a club for veterans, and are unaware of what we are really about, True, we do have a clubroom and we do enjoy socializing with one another, but there is much more to it than that. A lot of our energy is devoted to things that we believe help to make Greater Cincinnati and especially our little part of Greater Cincinnati a bit better than it would be if we were not here. Almost everyone is eligible to join one of the three 484 organizations, and we hope that you will consider doing so. Please browse below to learn a little more about us.
A Legion sponsored program for young men, held between their junior and senior years in high school.
We contribute to this organization that helps homeless veterans to get back on their feet.
Our Service Officer aids veterans in many areas. This service is made available to all veterans (whether Legion members or not) and to their families.
An important part of the Legion family, SAL Squadron 484 provides aid to Post 484 in many areas, and also has some great programs of its own.
We donate a substantial amount to this program for children who are very sick.
We help with gifts for disabled veterans.
Groups from 484 organizations visit local VA hospitals and provide food, games, and most importantly, sociability for hospitalized and sometimes forgotten veterans.
American flags on Sutton Avenuie, availability of our hall for community meetings, and a coat collection for kids and homeless veterans are just a few more things that we do to better our community.
